ABOUT ME
Joan B. Williams
I am an experienced Black administrator in education, currently based in Toronto, Canada. My journey in education began in Jamaica, where I first discovered my passion for teaching. After moving to the Turks & Caicos Islands, I continued to grow in my career before eventually settling in Canada.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and find relaxation in cooking, baking, and occasionally sewing. I’m also actively involved in my church community, where I contribute to the children's ministry.
What Inspires Me
My inspiration to write began years ago while teaching in Jamaica. During that time, I noticed gaps in my students' understanding of math, which motivated me to write a textbook to support their learning. This passion for writing deepened as I continued my teaching career in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Over time, as I migrated to Canada, my experiences evolved, and so did my focus for writing. While I consider myself an introvert, my mind is always active, and writing has become my ultimate form of expression.
"It is my desire, that my writing will educate, motivate and transform."
